Detailed Description of Trip:
We will meet at Shinjuku station at 8:15 a.m. and take a bus to the 5th station of the Kawaguchiko departing at 8:45a.m. The bus will arrive at the 5th station at 11:20 and this will be the last place you can pick up supplies for a reasonable price, and we can also have lunch here. The Kawaguchiko route starts at 2305 meters. We should start climbing by noon so there will be plenty of time for resting during the climb before we arrive at the mountain hut. The scenery on this route is very interesting, you will definitely feel like you are climbing a volcano. The hiking is not technical, but will be a physical challenge. There are plenty of opportunities to rest along the way, and because we will be staying at a mountain hut at night we can take our time and not exhaust ourselves the first day. We will go to bed early Saturday night because our climb will start before sunrise.
We will begin our climb early in the morning before sunrise, so we will have a reasonable chance of reaching the sumit just before sunrise so we can enjoy this very wonderful experience of watching the sun come up over a sea of clouds from Japan's highest point. After sunrise there will be time for exploring the mountain and peering into the crater. We will then head back down the descent route which zig zags down the mountain in many switch backs which puts less stress on the knees. We should be back at the 5th station in the early afternoon with plenty of time to catch a bus back to Tokyo, or wherever else you wish to visit during this trip. (If you have the time, the 5 lakes area of Kawaguchiko is a very nice place to explore.)

Participant Minimum and Maxium: This trip will be canceled if there are less than 4 people signed up. The maximum number of participants is 10 people.
