2009 Fall Adventure Calendar

October 17th - October 18th: South Alps Climbing - Kita Dake
Kita Dake is the 2nd tallest mountain in Japan, and probably has one of the best sunrises in all of Japan.  You can see Mt. Fuji next to the rising sun while you are sitting above a sea of clouds.  The fall colors will be coming in up over 2,000 meters, so it's a great chance to get some good photos.  This climb will involve a little rock scrambling and chains, but anyone who is reasonably fit can climb this peak. Saturday October 24th: Beginner Rock Climbing at Hiwadayama
This area is the perfect place for your first rock climbing experience.  There are over 20 beginner friendly routes here, and we will have our first climb on a short 5 meter cliff before moving on to the 20 and 25 meter cliffs that are in this area.  6,000円  Click here for more information
 
Sunday November 1st: Beginner Rock Climbing at Yugawara.
The area surrounding this climbing area is full of plum trees, and it is very beautiful in the springtime.  You can see the sea from the top of the rocks.  This area is great for climbers of all levels.  There are a lot of routes available for beginner and Intermediate climbers.  7,000円  Click here for more information

November 7th - 8th:  Overnight Rock Climbing Weekend in Izu.
We will once again head to Jougasaki on the Izu Penninsula for another weekend of climbing. This time we will be visiting some new areas that we haven't gone to on past trips, and we will be climbing on routes from upper beginner to upper intermediate.  You will have a good chance to work on footwork and hand techniques during this weekend.  14,250 円 and this includes lodging.  Click here for more information

Saturday November 14th: Shosenkyo Fall Colors Hike.
Shosenkyo Gorge is one of the best places in the Kanto area for seeing the fall colors.  This trip is scheduled to happen at the peak of the colors.  After hiking along a scenic river we will come to a 30 meter tall water fall.  After this we will take a cable car up to the top of the gorge and then it's a short hike to a rocky summit with a 360 view of the Alps and Mt. Fuji.  This trip is great for beginners, and is an easy hike.   5,900円  Click here for more information
