Rock Climbing Adventures
Basic Climbing Trips
Our basic rock climbing trips are set up for beginners and those with more experience. The areas that we choose for these trips have a wide range of difficulty, from easy to hard.

All of the climbing that we do on these trips will be top-roping where the rope goes from the climber to an anchor and then a belayer. You do not have to worry about falling because the rope is there to catch you. All climbing equipment is provided. This will include a climbing harness, belay device and locking carabiner, helmet, and rock climbing shoes.
We will begin each trip with an introduction to the equipment that you will use, and teach you how to use it safely. Next we will teach how to tie-in with a figure-8 follow-thru, and how to belay. All of this will be done in our ground school before you ever touch rock. After the ground school you will feel very secure when you actually start climbing on the rocks.A picture of participants during ground school.
Top rope Anchor Building Course
If you have experience climbing and are looking to move to the next level to head out climbing on your own, this is the course for you. You will learn everything you need to know to set up anchors for top rope climbing. The most common anchors you will need for climbing in Japan are using bolts or natural anchors like trees and boulders. You will also learn about risk management related to climbing, and teaching techniques so that you will be able to teach new climbers you might take out the basics of climbing. Time permitting, we will go to a local climbing shop to introduce the various climbing gear available so you can make an educated decision if you decide to purchase equipment in the future.
Sport Climbing Instruction
For climbers who are looking to move into the art of lead climbing, sport climbing is a good place to start. We will teach you the basics of lead climbing, clipping bolts, and building sport anchors, with a focus on safe climbing. This course is available by request, with a 2 participant max. The cost is 20,000 Yen for one person, or 15,000 Yen each for 2 people per day.
