On this trip we are headed to Nagano to try our hand at skiing in powder in the Japanese Alps. Trip departs Friday night from Ikebukuro station. 3 nights lodging, and 3 days lift tickets are included in trip fee.
On each day, we'll need to make about a 20~30 minute drive up to the resort from our Onsen Village. The plan is to start out early each day to get the best snow conditions. We also plan to head all the way to inner Shiga and spend a day at Yokoteyama which features some of the great powder skiing and few people. Shiga Kogen is a great resort featuring numerous smaller mountains put together into a giant network making for over 80 km of ski courses. This was also the site of a number of the Olympic ski events so you know you are heading to a great resort.
Ski / Snowboard Rentals:
We can arrange for a ski and snowboard set to be picked up Saturday morning and rental prices cost between 2000~3000 yen per day for board and boots set depending on the quality level.
Lodging Details
We will be staying at the Honami Kaido Guesthouse in Yudanaka Onsen which is a new guesthouse that features a comfy common area with wood stove, drinks available as well as breakfast and dinner options. We will also arrange transport to centra Yudanaka one night for dinner and one night out in Nakano.
