Friday Night- We will do pick-ups in Fuchu at 8 p.m. and then arrive at the trailhead around 10 p.m so we have plenty of time to get a good night's rest. We will stay in a bunkhouse at the trailhead that is heated and includes bunkbeds, so you won't need to pack sleeping bags and can go light.
Saturday- We will wake up around 5 a.m. have breakfast at the bunkhouse and then drive up to the trailhead and start our approach. The approach is quite easy and will take less than 2 hours to get to the bottom of the climb. Our ascent will be via the bunzaburo route which has some steep sections as we get up high with some nice exposure. After spending a short time on the summit we will descend via the Jizo Ridge (地蔵尾根) which has some steep sections as well as a short but well protected knife ridge that makes for some great photos.
Following the climb, we'll head to a hot spring to warm up before heading home.
**You are also required to purchase mountaineering rescue insurance before participating in this trip. We can provide names of providers and help you through the application process.
