This hike which is on the far western edge of Chichibu National Park features everything you want in an easy hike. Great views of the South Alps and a snow covered Mt. Fuji, virgin forest, riverside start, and just enough challenge to make you feel like you got in a good work out and earned your wine at the end of the day. On top of all that, you can check this one off the list of 100 Famous Mountains!
This hike is not difficult and great for beginners, but there is a bit over 600M of elevation gained. Total distance is 7.5km and will take less than 5 hours to walk. The summit features really good views of Mt. Fuji and the whole South Alps range with a 360 degree view. This is a loop hike so you'll be able to see different scenery throughout the whole hike, and we've picked a more gentle route for the descent.
The wildflowers should be getting started in the area and it's a great warmup for the hiking season.
