Gunma Hotaka is one of the 100 famous mountains located in Gunma prefecture very close to the Niigata border. This hike has a bit of everything including some scrambling and chains, and it is quite a challenging day to complete the loop route from Hotaka Shrine.
**Sunday 7/4 is also reserved in case of bad weather on Saturday so please try to keep both days available in your schedule.
We will meet up on Friday night in Hanno and then spend the night at our Hiker's B&B so we can get an early start on Saturday. The hiking distance is just under 12km with 1,300 meters of elevation gained and lost. There are steep sections that will require care but over all it is not a very technical hike. There is a lot of ridge walking with amazing views along the way.
We are timing this hike to hit the early end of wildflower season as well so this hike really has everything.
