On this trip we are headed out for a moderate hike in the deep mountains of Nikko. For a mountain of only 1,539M, it offers a lot of adventure, and really amazing views on the way up. A large portion of this hike enjoys 360 degree views thanks to the open ridge top that we will be hiking along.
Total hiking distance on this trip is about 8km with just under 800M of elevation gained. The route starts up next to the river, and then begins climbing up one of the sub-ridges to gain the main ridge. There are some rocky sections, but they are not technical at all. After having lunch on the summit, we'll drop down via a more gentle ridge back to the car and then head to a local onsen to relax before the drive home.
