This is an introductory level snow hiking trip and we will provide crampons for everyone who needs them The hiking route is a loop route ascending two peaks with a lot of the climbing taken care of by a chair lift at the beginning. The hike is not technical and there are great views throughout including 360 degree views possible from the summits. Total hiking distance is 7.5km and should take about 5 hours to complete. These peaks are located in Nagano near Asama-yama.
We will stay at Hiker's B&B on Friday night so we can get an early start on Saturday and arrive just as the chairlifts open. After reaching the top of the chairlift, we'll hike through a beautiful snowy forest which will soon open up into wide open snowy slopes with views of the entire Japanese Alps and Mt. Fuji possible.
If there is significant fresh snow, it may be necessary to wear snowshoes and we will provide those if necessary. This trip will finish off with a visit to a hot spring before heading back to Tokyo.
**3/8(Sun) is reserved as a backup date in case of bad weather. If you can't participate and we reschedule, then you are still entitled to a refund.
