Nyoho-san (女峰山) is a 2,483M peak in the mountains of Tochigi near Nikko. This peak is one of the 200 famous mountains, and is by far a much more enjoyable hike with better views than the nearby Nantai-san listed as one of the 100 famous mountains.
This trip will meet up at 6:30 a.m. so we can get a sufficiently early start on this hike.
The total hiking distance is 14km up and down along the same ridge. One way is 7km with 1,050 meters of elevation gain total and very little steep terrain and the ascent is quite gradual and balanced. The hike is definitely a work out with sustained climbing, but a majority of this hike is out of the trees with great views throughout.
*Sunday is also reserved as a backup date in case bad weather is forecast for Saturday. - If you are not able to join Sunday, you can still get a full refund in the event the trip gets rescheduled.
