The Unazawa Gorge is an amazing river gorge with multiple short waterfalls which are great for getting a great introduction to shower climbing. There are great narrow sections throughout the gorge, giving you a serious feeling of adventure and remoteness. Most of the falls in this gorge are 2~3 meters and we will only use a rope if someone feels uncomfortable. You do need to be a confident swimmer or have a life jacket to join in this trip.

After arriving at the start of the gorge, we will outfit all of the participants with equipment including traditional Japanese grass sandals and Tabi shoes, and prepare to start up the creek. The grass sandals provide excellent traction on wet and mossy rocks, and you will be surprised out how great the traction is. At the end of the gorge will be a beautiful waterfall to reward your hard work and an exciting 3 meter water-slide falls for a little added excitement.
To finish off the day, we'll head out to an onsen to warm up after spending the day in the cool creek.
