On this trip we are headed to Oze for some spring skiing. 2 nights lodging, Sunday breakfast, and 2 days lift tickets are included in trip fee.
Saturday's resort is Kawaba Ski Resort at the base of Gunma Hotaka, at nearly 2,000 meters high. This resort is known for having great quality silky snow, even in spring and the views from the mountain are absolutely amazing. There are some back country opportunities available as well for those with the appropriate equipment and experience to head out on your own. There is a total of 6 lifts and a gondola with courses up to 3.5km long and a well maintained snowpark and mogul course.
Sundayaturday we are headed to White World Oze Iwakura. This is the largest ski resort in Kanto and has plenty of side country to play in the trees if you are looking for something different. There are no crowds and the slopes are wide including a number of ungroomed high powder bowls above tree line.
Lodging Details
On Saturday night the plan is to spend the night Hiker's B&Bt in Hanno so we can hit the road early and beat traffic out of town and still make it to the resort for when the lifts open up.
Sunday night we will be staying at a traditional Japanese Inn called Kutsurogi Inn. The inn includes natural hot spring baths for you to relax in after a day on the slopes. Dinner will be out in the local town.
The in is just 20 minutes from the resort so after a traditional Japanese breakfast we'll hit the road and be on the slopes as soon as the lifts open.
Ski / Snowboard Rentals:
We can arrange for a ski and snowboard set to be delivered to the ski resort and rental prices cost between 2000~3000 yen per day for board and boots set depending on the quality level.
