With Covid-19 creating a huge impact on our business due to the loss of international tourism, we are exploring some new service options aimed at helping to improve the quality of life for the international community and help out some local farmers in our area of Oku-Musashi in western Saitama.
We are creating a partnership with a few local organic farms in Hanno, Hidaka, and Ogose in Saitama to offer organic vegetable deliveries weekly to people in central Tokyo at a cost comparable or likely cheaper than buying from a Tokyo supermarket and certainly much fresher with everything being harvested less than 24 hours before delivery. We also would like to be able to offer more western vegetables that are harder to find for example kale, swiss chard, and beets.
*We are aiming to begin this service between December 21st and January 6th and specific start date will depend on our initial recruitment success. No payments will be accepted until we confirm a start date for the program.

Sustainability Plan
Our plan is to have a weekly vegetable delivery service with zero garbage, and all packaging and shipping materials will be reusable. In the beginning we will be using boxes, and trying to limit plastic packaging, but within 1 month of starting our service we plan to get our farmers set up to use 100% reusable washable packaging which may be a first for a vegetable delivery service in Japan.
By offering a monthly subscription plan, we will be able to make this all work and offer a sustainable income source for our farmers so that we will be able to make special requests for specific vegetables to be grown. Deliveries will go straight from the farm to specific areas of Tokyo on specific days.

The assortment of vegetables will change every week, but you can expect to receive staple items like onions and carrots quite regularly while they are in season. Weather also affects things and size and variety of vegetables may be limited during periods of tough weather conditions. Also unique or rare vegetables will often be included, and we will send out some recipes with some suggestions on how to use them. We also plan to create a community group for everyone receiving our veggie boxes to be able to share some of your cooking ideas.
Subscription can be paused if you will be out of town for a period of time. We need at least 3 days notice to pause your delivery.

Delivery Area
Initially we are planning to offer delivery into central Tokyo and the wards in blue on the map are our intended initial delivery areas. Additional areas may be added in the future, so definitely put your information down and if we have enough interest we can add additional areas once the logistics and supplies are worked out.
Delivery will be once a week on either Tuesday or Wednesday in early to mid afternoon. In the event of a national holiday we will adjust to either the day before or after and will be in touch in advance about the changes. To keep costs down and to be able to collect reusable packaging, we will be doing deliveries ourselves. You are not required to be home for a delivery but we need to confirm in advance where to leave your veggie package either in a delivery box, in front of your door, or with an apartment concierge. If you are interested in the service but outside of the current delivery area in Tokyo, please contact us with your address and we will see if there is a way to get some great vegetables to you. |
Payment Details
Payments can be made by either bank transfer or credit card payment. Bank transfer payments would be made to our Company Japan Post account, and credit card payments will be managed through PayPal or Stripe. Payment for trial boxes and subscriptions needs to be completed at least 5 days before scheduled delivery.
