Unryu Keikoku is a winter wonderland featuring multiple frozen waterfalls, some of which you can even walk behind. Access from Nikko is very convenient, and the hike overall is not difficult. This is a great opportunity to experience winter hiking.
The overall hiking distance is about 9km with approximately 400M of elevation gained and lost during the hike. As we get closer to the falls the trail will get icy and we'll put on crampons to head the rest of the way. We'll spend a bit of time at the end of the gorge exploring the different falls and taking lots of photos before heading down.
The trip will end at Yashio-no-yu onsen where we will warm up after a day spent in the cold
