Myougi-san is a smaller mountain at just 1,103 meters, but it is a very dramatic mountain of multiple rocky peaks jutting out of the surrounding landscape. This hike is not a super long hike at just 7km, but what it lacks in distance it makes up in adventure.
Our route will start among Japanese maple trees and blooming sakura trees then head up the ridge line making the Peak next to Hammer Rock our main goal of the day. After this peak, the adventure is just getting started with some long chain descents, climbs, and traverses.
Throughout this climb there will be a lot of scrambling, climbing, and high adventure traverses. Higher up on the mountain you will be using chains more of the time than not using them. For extra safety we will provide helmets and harnesses with tethers for everyone to protect against any potential rock fall or disastrous slips. One long vertical chain will be protected with a roped belay for safety.
After the climb, we'll head straight to a hot spring to relax before making the drive home.
