Back Country Ski Option

Gran Deco Back Country Route: Nishi Daiten Southwest Ridge - Penguin Route - 西大巓 南西尾根(ペンギンルート)
This is a great entry level back country ski route great for those just getting started and fun for those with experience. This route also offers the chance to ski among the snow monsters of the Urabandai area. This route starts from the top of the #4 Chairlift and skinning up along the south ridge of Nishi Daiten Peak. Total ascent distance is 2km. From the summit we take the skins off and head down along the southwest ridge and terrain is all under 30 degrees. Total descent distance back to the bottom of the ski area is approximately 6km.
