On this trip, we will be spending the weekend on the southwestern part of the Izu Peninsula snorkeling, barbecuing, and camping. We've chosen some of the best and uncrowded snorkeling spots on the Peninsula, and will be camping a 1 minute walk from the beach under pine trees for shade.

*Please note due to the ongoing Covid situation everyone needs to provide their own small tent, you may opt to share with friends if you'd like, but we only have a couple of small tents available, though have plenty of multi-person tents.
Saturday:
We will depart from Fuchu at 7:00a.m. and hit the highway down to Izu. Our first day will be spent at the Koganezaki Beach and campground. After setting up camp we'll enjoy the beach and local snorkeling areas taking it easy the whole day. The beach features golden sand and few waves. Being on the west coast it is also perfectly situated for a golden sunset.
There are also some cliffs at this beach which are suitable for jumping off into the ocean as well.
The menu on Saturday evening will consist of great meats and veggies, including sausage, shish-kebab, corn on the cob, and grilled potatoes.
Sunday:
After breakfast and packing up our campsite we'll make a short drive to Uki-shima beach for a day of snorkeling. There are some great rock arches and small caves to explore by snorkel and it's not so crowded. There is also an onsen located just a short walk away. We'll head back home around 2:30 p.m. to try and avoid the Sunday traffic and get back to Fuchu at a decent time. (Sunday's beach may change depending on wave and weather conditions) If traffic is very bad, we may drop everyone off at Ebina station on the Odakyu and Sotetsu lines if that will get everyone home significantly faster.
